I guess it's a good thing that I keep getting involved in Life and its various projects so much I sort of forget I have a Deviant site and that I really enjoy building and feeding it from time to time. A couple weeks ago I was looking at some of my legacy computers from 1980's and I was thinking of trying to get images from there onto a website and I flashed on whether or not any of that material had ever made it to the galleries here. Answer...no. Because I think of this place as a sort of 'historical record' it seems strange that there would be these 'holes' where a big chunk of spacetime and artistic work simply doesn't represent. I have been looking at the galleries of artists working in a similar vein and most of them have 10 to 100 times as many views per deviation as I do! Wow...what does this mean? I personally look over my own gallery and am quite engaged by it, I think for two primary reasons. a) there are certain kinds of complex images that are kind of unusual in style which relax my mind because of peculiar aspects in my perceptual and cognitive makeup; b) I have specific history with each piece so the gallery acts as a kind of diary of my life in pictures. Obviously, neither of these is a particularly good reason for SOMEONE ELSE to visit the gallery! So.
